Woodward’s LS-5 Series are synchronizer controllers with integrated mains decoupling and protection features. The applications range from independent synch check relay to complex power management relay with multiple utility feeds, bus tie breakers and group breakers in combination with Woodward’s easYgen-3400XT/3500XT equipped genset controllers. Wiring efforts are reduced to a minimum, since only one CAN bus connection is required between all LS-5 and easYgen controllers to transmit AC measurement signals, I/O states, flags etc.
The LS-5×2 relays simplify the applications where the load bus is served by a mains circuit breaker (MCB) and a generator group breaker (GGB). It senses voltage and current, quantifies the synchronization parameters and transmits the signals via CAN bus to the easYgen-3400XT/3500XT genset controllers. The two breakers control capability along with mains decoupling and protection features make it a perfect choice for transfer switch control under guidance of an external supervisory control. The LS-5×2 is software selectable to be applied as an LS-5×1 thereby facilitating hard-ware standardization to OEM switchgear builders, generator packagers, and system integrators.
Woodward’s easYgen | LS-6XT control is synchronizer controller with integrated mains decoupling and protection features. It enables several redundant communication schemes with peer control. The applications range from independent synch check relay to complex power management system with multiple utility feeds, but tie breakers and group breakers in combination with Woodward’s EasyGen-3400XT/3500XT equipped genset controllers and/or easTgen-3400XT equipped genset groups. Redundant buses running among the peer controls ensure that availability of your power generation asset is not compromised to a single point of failure.
The LS6-XT control together with easYgen-300XT controls are designed to support OEM switch-gear builders, generator packages, and system integrators standardize on a single hardware for a multitude of utility parallel or island operations. Off-the-shelf LS6-XT control is software configurable for one/two breaker control, gensets/genset groups handling, and stand-alone/multi-unit application.
The LS6-XT controller is available in a rugged aluminum powder coated housing; An LED Annunciator plate is integrated to the front for local annunciation of alarms that are customizable on-site. Woodward RP-3000XT is supported over a separate Ethernet network that works as remote operator control panel.
The easYgen-3500XT is available in two packages. P1, focused on complex paralleling applications Provides redundant Ethernet communication, LS-5 connectivity, and standard I/O set, while P2, Co-Gen/CHP model offers expanded onboard I/O set, 3-ph busbar voltage measurement capability and phase rotation monitoring between gen-busbar and busbar-utility. These packages are available without a display in a rugged metal housing suitable for back panel installations (easYgen-3400XT-P1 and easYgen-3400XT-P2 respectively). A sophisticated touchscreen remote panel (RP-3000XT) complements them as an operator control panel. A version of easYgen-3500XT (easYgen-3500XT-P1-LT and easYgen-3500XT-P2-LT) is designed to operate down to -400 C for outdoor applications.
The easYgen-3000XT Series controllers operate gene sets of all sizes and applications. These controllers include specifically designed algorithms and logic to start, stop, control, and protect the genset, circuit breaker and the utility, where applicable. It allows standardizing on a single, affordable genset controller for distributed power generation applications.
The easYgen-3200XT application range spans from isolated operation of a single genset to load sharing of up to 32 gen-sets in islanded and/or parallel operation with a single utility. It combines complete engine-generator control and protection with advanced, peer-to-peer parallel functionality and innovative features in a robust, attractive, user-friendly, and all-in-one package.
Woodward’s LS-5 Series relays are synchronizer controllers with integrated mains de-coupling and protection features. The applications range from independent synch check relay to complex power management with multiple utility feeds, bus tiebreakers and group breakers in combination with Woodward’s easYgen-3400XT/3500XT equipped genset controllers. Wiring efforts are reduced to a minimum, since only one CAN bus connection is required between all LS-5 and easYgen controllers to transmit AC measurements signals, I/O states, flags, etc.
The LS-5×1 devices manage synchronization, loading and unloading on each bus segment and send the required voltage, frequency, and phase angle references via CAN bus to the easYgen-3400XT/3500XT genset controllers. When serving an incoming main breaker, it automatically detects mains failure, performs mains decoupling and sends the start signal to the easYgen. The LS-5×1 is software selectable to be applied as an independent synch check relay, mains circuit breaker control or bus tie-breaker control thereby providing exceptional versatility and value for OEM switchgear builders, generator packagers, and system integrators.
DSLC-2XT synchronizes and controls the generator loading for up to 32 three phase AC generators using the integrated (DSLC-2XT/MSLC-2XT) Ethernet communication network. The DSLC-2XT excels in either simple generator or complex generator system applications. The DSLC-2XT/MSLC-2XT combination provides multiple units, segment, utility, and intertie power management for complex power systems.
Woodward understands the time-intensive nature of Power Generation projects. Ensuring the longevity of components is one way we can make our customers successful. Woodward has supplied and supported the well-established SPM-D line of synchronizers for 20+ years. With the state-of-the-art Drop-In replacement successor, SPM-D2 the life of this synchronizer line is now extended. All of the SPM-D2 synchronizers are password protected and are configurable either through HMI as before or through ToolKit configuration tool with USB connectivity.
MSLC-2XT™ functions with the DSLC-2XT™ control to provide synchronization and load control across Utility and Intertie breakers. The MSLC-2XT/DSLC-2XT combination operates over an Ethernet communication network to control simple or complex generator system applications. This combination, 32 DSLC-2XT’s and 16 MSLC-2XT’s, provides multiple units, multiple segments, utility, and intertie power management for complex power systems. Controls plant wide Import / Export levels while always providing bump-less load transfers with utility.
The DTSC-200A (Digital Transfer Switch Control) controls the transfer of electrical power from one source to another for hospitals, data centers, office buildings, manufacturing plants and similar where lights out is not an option. The extremely versatile DTSC-200A ATS controller is easily configured for a wide range of automatic transfer switch applications including Main-Gen, Gen-Gen or Main-Main systems using circuit breakers or latching contactors. Source transfer can be performed as open, delayed, or closed transition with in-phase monitoring (synch check) that can be enabled for all transition types to ensure safe transfer. The closed transition over-lap time can be limited to less than 100ms for momentary, make-before-break transfers, or extended indefinitely for paralleling via discrete input. “Custom” features like transfer inhibit, source selection, load shed/restore, elevator pre-signal and engine test programs come standard.
